As part of the College of Law – University of Baghdad’s efforts to develop research skills and enhance the capabilities of faculty members and postgraduate students in accessing modern academic resources, the Continuing Education Unit organized today, Wednesday, October 15, 2025, a workshop titled:

“Introduction to the Cairn.info Platform and How to Utilize It in Academic Research.”

The workshop was presented by Teaching Assistant Lamia Ali Shanawa from the Criminal Law, in the presence of several college members and postgraduate students.

The workshop covered multiple topics, including:

🔹 Introduction to the Cairn.info platform, its origins, and the disciplines it covers.
🔹 Overview of the types of resources available on the platform, including articles, books, journals, and theses.
🔹 Explanation of advanced search methods using keywords and filtering by date, author, or subject.
🔹 Guidance on how to utilize the platform in writing theses, dissertations, and academic research.
🔹 A live demonstration of conducting a research query on a specific topic and evaluating the results.

The workshop concluded with several recommendations, notably:

✅ Encouraging researchers and postgraduate students to rely on reputable academic platforms for gathering scientific material.
✅ Promoting digital research literacy and developing skills in using research tools.
✅ Organizing regular workshops and seminars to train on modern research platforms.
✅ Providing institutional support to facilitate access to scientific platforms, whether through symbolic subscriptions or free access in support of academic research.

This workshop reflects the college’s commitment to strengthening the digital research environment and empowering researchers to use modern knowledge tools effectively and with high quality.
